Fact 1:

75 per cent of all accidents are associated with:

  • Tractors and machinery
  • Trips and falls
  • Livestock

The Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 requires that a safety statement be prepared for all workplaces, including farms.

Fact 2:

Slips, Trips and Falls (STF) account for the second highest amount of workplace injuries and over 17% of all injuries reported in 2013.

Between 2003 and 2012, almost half of the 573 reported deaths arising from workplace accidents were vehicle related.

Fact 4:

Early CPR and defibrillation within the first 3–5 minutes after collapse, plus early advanced care can result in high (greater than 50%) long-term survival rates for witnessed cardiac arrests.

The value of early CPR by bystanders is that it can “buy time” by maintaining some blood flow to the heart and brain during cardiac arrest.

Fact 5:
